The Single Currency In Cuba
Still many tourists who come on holiday to Cuba, wondering what currency to pay everywhere. And all because of the so-called two-track system, which functions on the territory of the country. However, now the Council of Ministers has decided to eliminate this confusion, and at the same time to recover the cost, and the role of the peso as the national currency.
For almost twenty years in Cuba run two of the national currency, namely convertible and ordinary pesos. First the locals used solely for tourists, exchanging at the rate of one dollar. And the second option is for the local population. And it cost a quarter less.
To purchase any goods or services, and to pay travel expenses and airport tax, tourists need convertible pesos or canadian dollars, pounds sterling, and even Swiss francs. Interestingly, in many tourist areas, a change you can give, as in a convertible and not convertible currency.
Because of this situation, many low workers take on extra work as taxi drivers or offer tourists their homes to make extra money and convertible pesos.
