Hersonissos, Greece

The peaceful sandy beaches and ancient ruins attract travelers in Hersonissos, a former Roman port on the island of Crete. This is a good place for a family holiday: there are a lot of entertainment for children. The Open Air Museum Lychnostatis can learn about occupations and way of life of the ancient inhabitants of the island. Here you can see a herbarium, press for olive oil and wine, and workshops where ceramics were produced, footwear and textiles. The aquarium show the local marine fauna. The same, but in the other (tastier) as occurs in many cafes with traditional cuisine.
